Yoga with Astra
Astra Farquharson founded Therapy Yoga to share how life changing MOVEMENT, MINDFULNESS and MEDITATION can really be! She came to yoga over 20 years ago with chronic pain and ongoing stress. Thankfully, since then she has come a long way and she remains eternally grateful to the GP who recommended Yoga as a means to improved health and wellbeing!
Astra is a British Wheel of Yoga (BWY Dip) Mindfulness Yoga Teacher, and member of The Register of Exercise Professionals. She is also a teacher under the Clear Mind Institute. Astra trained for three years for her BWY teaching Diploma under Elaine Fletcher, who has greatly influenced her gentle yoga teaching style. She has over 15 years experience in various yoga traditions, and was first introduced to yoga by renowned yoga teacher Tara Fraser, who has remained a friend and mentor.
A mum of two, with personal experience of overcoming health challenges, her special interests include yoga for stress and pain management. She has worked with the Bromley-By-Bow Centre in Tower Hamlets and the charity MIND to deliver yoga programmes for improved mental health and wellbeing. Having a compassionate approach to teaching, she aims to make yoga practice a safe space accessible to whomever is drawn to the mat!
